History

The “Stankolit” Trade Complex was established in 1998 in the Butyrsky District of Moscow. During the USSR era, the metallurgical plant “Stankolit” operated on this territory. In 1998, the site and workshops of the former plant were acquired by Mikhail Dvornikov, who created the “Stankolit” Trade Complex on their basis.

Until 2006, the facility operated as ZAO “CMD”, founded on 26.02.2001 (registration number 1027700319140). One hundred percent of the shares belonged to Mikhail Vladimirovich Dvornikov. In 2006, for tax optimization purposes, ownership of the “Stankolit” complex was transferred to Emma Dvornikova.

One of the anchor tenants was the retail chain “Sunrise”. In 2009, Sunrise underwent a hostile takeover by Alfa-Bank-related entities. During this period, Sunrise stopped paying rent, and control over the company shifted to A1, the investment division of Alfa Group.

To protect the asset from hostile actions, in 2009 the property of the trade complex was transferred to OAO “GKS” (registration number 1097746468467).

The conflict with Alfa-Bank continued: in 2010–2011, attempts were made to discredit the Dvornikov family. At the end of 2011, the premises of the trade complex were vacated by Sunrise and Alfa-Bank structures.

In 2012, the family of Mikhail Vladimirovich Dvornikov sold 100% of the shares of OAO “GKS” to the family of businessman Edgar Gvazava (Alias Gvazava and Dmitry Gvazava). The new owner attracted major tenants, including Metro Cash & Carry, opened a food court, retail outlets, warehouse spaces, and carried out reconstruction and expansion of the facilities.
